Dr. Thomas L. Toth is Co-Founder of AutoIVF Inc. and is Co-Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board where he applies four decades of clinical, scientific, and academic leadership to advancing automation in assisted reproductive technology. His current work focuses on translational research leveraging microfluidics and laboratory automation to improve reliability, scalability, and global access to IVF care. He is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School.


Dr. Toth previously served for 25 years as Founding Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital IVF Unit and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship Program, where he led the development and training of clinical and laboratory teams and established nationally benchmarked outcomes in pregnancy rates. He pioneered single-embryo transfer, blastocyst cryopreservation, and frozen embryo transfer strategies, shaping best practices in the field.


An early innovator in assisted reproduction, Dr. Toth’s research during fellowship and early career established the scientific foundations of human oocyte cryopreservation, leading to the first IRB-approved human studies and today’s widely adopted standards of care.
