Mitchel Sayare, PhD, is co-founder and was Chairman and CEO of NASDAQ-listed ImmunoGen, Inc. (IMGN), a biotechnology company focused on the development of anti-cancer drugs and recently sold to AbbVie (NYSE: ABBV) for $10 billion.

Dr. Sayare began his professional career as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Sayare serves on the boards of several for-profit companies, including NASDAQ-listed Altimmune (ALT), Advanced Aesthetic Technologies, Energesis, Inc. and is Chairman of the Board of MassPay, an on-line payments company. He is a member of the board of the Smithsonian Astrophysics Observatory and the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

He is chairman of the board of the Lundquist Institute (Torrance, CA) and sits on its scientific advisory board. He is also chairman of the board of the Barrow Neurological Foundation and is a member of the Dean’s Council of the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University where he is also co-founder of the ASU Health Futures Council.
