Professor Carlos Simón, MD, PhD is a leading physician-scientist in reproductive medicine and women’s health, internationally recognized for his pioneering research on embryo–endometrium interactions and endometrial biology. He serves as Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Valencia and holds academic appointments as Senior Lecturer at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard University and adjunct roles at other institutions, reflecting his global influence in reproductive science and clinical translation.


Dr. Simón’s work has significantly advanced understanding of human implantation biology, endometrial receptivity, and molecular diagnostics in infertility, leading to innovations such as customized endometrial receptivity analysis that have reshaped clinical practice. His research portfolio spans more than 560 peer-reviewed publications and multiple patents. His Google Scholar is 136, and he has been honored with major awards including the Distinguished Researcher Award from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Prince Jaime I Award for Medical Research.


He is also Co-Founder and Co-President of the Carlos Simón Foundation for Research in Women’s Health, which fosters multidisciplinary research and clinical translation to improve reproductive outcomes worldwide.


Education: MD and PhD, University of Valencia School of Medicine; clinical residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology; postdoctoral training in Reproductive Endocrinology at Stanford University.
